What Raptors fans are saying:
QUOTE
let's start calling Bosh Kryptonite!! And a comic book reference for you all (please correct me if I'm wrong), Superman's other weakness besides Kryptonite is MAGIC. I recall Supes not being able to beat Captain Marvel in a fight (Shazaam, maybe you know more about this?). So you are right, Il Mago will revive!

More seriously, as if I wasn't serious about what I said, I'm calling Raptors in six!!!

QUOTE
SMACK a ho- (HOward)

QUOTE
LETS GO RAPTORS.....SUPERMAN IS DEAD!

raps in 6

QUOTE
i call raps in 6 as well. Bosh is supermans kryptonite!

QUOTE
This is the matchup everyone here wanted (and probably the raps themselves)
QUOTE
we do match up well with Orlando. Whereas Bosh underachieves against a top defender like Rasheed or KG, he has had his career best games the past two seasons against the Magic. And our point guards match up well against Jameer, Dooling and Arroyo. History doesn't buy us any wins, but it should put us in a more positive mindframe than getting ready to play Detroit, which has owned us for longer than I can remember.

MAGICMANEVAN - April 15, 2008 03:50 AM (GMT)
Now don't hate on me for this.. I threw it together as fast as I could. And I put in all the info I could find but when more comes out I'll add it here.

Those tickets look awful.

This whole playoff thing isn't shaping up well, no sir....

MagicMadness - April 15, 2008 04:28 AM (GMT)
lol, who did the playoff graphics this year? The Code Blue campaign, while being a poor choice of a name, was much, much better graphically in comparison.

Ben Q Rock - April 15, 2008 04:32 AM (GMT)
I just ahte the idea of putting fans on tickets. Yeah, I know, the team appreciates us. Lovely. But I don't go to playoff games to see the fans. I go to see the damn players. Put them on the tickets. f---ing ugh.

Hey, MME, can you shrink the logos in the main post? They're screwing with my browser like wow. All stretchy and stuff.

Or maybe it's just me. Anyone else having that problem?

dwight better not do his butt buddy defense w/ his friend bosh, he better go out there and take it at him

and if our pg's only get mildly killed by ford/calderon i'll be happy, as long as it isnt all out bulls**t again

No, it's all good. I tried finding the smallest pics of those but the ones I had were as small as I could find them. Sorry for the inconvenience for some of you guys.

MAYBE Bosh will come in high and completely have to miss the game!
but that wouldn't be nearly as fun as having the *HO(ward)* smack the ball back into is skinny, no muscle body.
Magic in 4. Lets sweeps these f*gs,

*Incredibly retarded. Raps fans suck at being wity.

TooNice - April 15, 2008 01:09 PM (GMT)
It feels like the playoffs should be tomorrow, but we still got 2 regular season games to go.

liltmac572 - April 15, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
orlando should win the series but i think its gonna go six because of bosh and calderon in the end we have to much fire power so we will win they don't have anyone to gaurd turk or lewis

Eyriq - April 15, 2008 02:23 PM (GMT)
This is going to be great! Bring on the Raps, they think they match up well against us compared to Detroit? Well no S**t! Magic in 6. I could see their guards getting the upper hand enough to get them 2 wins, but that's it.

MAGICMANEVAN - April 15, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)
I got two tickets this morning to the first game!!

Good news is that much of the tickets are ALREADY sold out without even having the times and dates set yet. It was tough finding good seats for the price we wanted because they are going fast.

They said that the times and dates are still being worked out by the NBA but we should know it all this week (most likely).

MAGICmanSAM - April 15, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
I wonder what channel this game will be on.

MAGICMANEVAN - April 15, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
ESPN probably. All the games are on ESPN or ABC (IIRC).

And the lady at the RDV said the game will be either Sunday or it could be Monday. But it's most likely Sunday. But the time of the game? I have no idea.

NYCMagicFan - April 15, 2008 04:42 PM (GMT)
I looked ahead on the DirecTV Guide and for Sunday it lists a 3:00pm Game on ABC and then 5:30pm, 8:00pm, 10:30pm on TNT.

According to the Magic Playoff Page, we will find out the COMPLETE 1st Round Schedule on Thursday

Well there is also games on ESPN then... On the ESPN program guide there is a spot for NBA Playoffs at 3 P.M. so the game could possibly be on at that time.

So it could be on any of those three channels then, and who knows the time.. Were just lost until they come out with the schedule.

Really? My guide shows Nascar on Sunday at 3:00pm. For me ESPN is showing games on Saturday with ABC. Sunday seems to be ABC & TNT

MAGICMANEVAN - April 15, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
Yeah I went to the online program guide and looked for April 20 and it lists a spot for "GMC NBA Countdown" before the game then "NBA Playoffs" at 3 PM.

But I'm just as confused so who knows really, lol.

Hell yeah, let's wipe the floor with them. And man I hope Dwight destroys the s**t out of Bosh.

CLos - April 16, 2008 03:43 AM (GMT)
Honestly, we win in 6. Bosh will have some good games and Calderon/Ford will blow up but we have Turkoglu, Lewis, Dwight, and an X-Factor that will step up and play good.

The Orlando Magic vs The Toronto Raptors

Two young teams each led by one of the two best young big men in the league collide in a match-up that could go either way.

Beginning when Chris Bosh went down with an injury, Rasho Nesterovic of all people has become maybe the second best player on this Raptors team. He's showcased sublime talents with the Slovenian national team for years and in the last few weeks, those talents have finally been on display in the NBA. There have been occasions where he has looked good guarding Dwight Howard, but don't be surprised if Superman treats him like a poor man's Lois Lane all series.

Regardless, this doesn't look like a good series for the Magic. Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard almost negate one another so I'll look at the rest of the rest of the lineup. The Raptors tend to have success against teams with questionable point guard play and there are few teams in this year's playoffs with a shakier point situation than Orlando. TJ Ford and Jose Calderon are a definite upgrade over Jameer Nelson and Carlos Arroyo. While Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis can really shoot the basketball, the Raptors are among the best shooting teams in the league. Meanwhile, the Raptors tend to struggle against physical teams and outside of Howard, I wouldn't call anyone on this team too physical.

I've bashed them a lot lately but I like this matchup.

and who is matt mcready, one of the stupid joe schmoes on realgm who writes an article like he knows what hes talking about, i'll take this article w/ a grain of salt like all the other articles over at realretards

not blasting u MME, i just get pissed when i see non informed idiots out there writing articles out of their a** trying to act like they know s**t

all u have to know is that if the magic drafted andray blatche according to them we would have 2 championships by now w/ the new "twin towers" of the NBA

MAGICMANEVAN - April 16, 2008 06:23 PM (GMT)
No I agree dude. I just post anything I see about the Magic. It's pretty boring around here now haha.

Many of them do know nothing your right. But its nice to see someone else's take on the series instead of just Magic/Raptors fans. Gives you a good perspective of what we could be missing.

TooNice - April 16, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
Who is Matt McCready? He obviously needs to do a little more research. First it should be keyon and not arroyo. I love Calderon and Ford, but I honestly don't see how they would be able to determine the outcome of any series. Neither of them are great scorers (11ppg and 12ppg), neither of can post up Jameer nelson of all people, and they are not all stars(maybe you could make an argument in the east but in the west nobody would even pay attention to them). I know Jameer got torched by Billups last year but these two players are far from giving us that much trouble. Or even the trouble that Andre Miller could give.

And the Magic are a better offensive team all the way around. So its not gonna be the raptors offense that wins but their defense or eliminating Howard from the game.

Magic.Man - April 16, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
Really excited about this :D I'm not gonna lie and say Raptors were my preferred choice of opponent though, i wanted Philly, as i'm sure most people did

I'm gonna try and watch as many games of the series as i can but with the time different it's difficult.

12:30 PM start time on Sunday? WEAK (for me).

3 NBATV games? We can thank Toronto for that one.

OMG. This sucks. I'm going to miss Game 2 and 3 because of NBA TV. I haven't been able to watch the last 4 or 5 games of the season and I was looking forward to being able to see this whole series. Thanks a lot Toronto. If anyone can find links to these games, I'd appreciate it.
